Director of Family Ministries

Marion United Methodist Church seeks a full-time Director of Family Ministries. The Director will be responsible for developing and leading a transformational discipleship and missions program for students K-6 and 7-12. MUMC is a vibrant church in the heart of Marion, Arkansas, located just minutes away from downtown Memphis, Tennessee (think small town life with big city fun!). We have a strong history of involvement in our community are are actively growing in our faith, missions, and ministries. At MUMC, we are all about living life on purpose as every day followers of Jesus Christ. We love Jesus, one another, and our community.

Primary Responsibilities
Teach and model the Christian faith using Biblical and Wesleyan curriculum.
Create and coordinate worship and fellowship activities for students.
Develop opportunities for students and families to engage their faith through missions.
Supervise part-time ministry assistant.
Recruit and equip ministry volunteers.
Build relationships with students and parents outside of church programming, including attendance at various activities (concerts, sporting events, etc.)
Communicate ministry plans to youth, parents, staff, and the congregation.
Partner with other church staff in support of the mission of the church.
Faithfully steward the children’s and youth budgets.
Assist in leading public worship services.

Essential Qualifications
Personal faith in Christ expressed through devotional and discipleship practices.
Confession of orthodox Christian faith as contained in the Apostles’ and Nicene creeds.
Affirm the Wesleyan doctrinal distinctives and way of life.
Ability to teach, assist in worship leadership, and speak in public.
Strong relational skills within a context of healthy boundaries.
Ability to work with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Passion for missions and outreach.

Other qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a Christian ministry related field or a suitable combination of education, training, and experience. Students expecting to graduate in spring 2022 are encouraged to apply. Salary is negotiable and based on education, training, and experience.
