Position: Director of Student Ministry
Full-time: 40 hours/week
Reports to: Pastor
Objective: This position exists for the purpose of building a community of faith among our middle and high school students. This would be done in partnership with families and as part of Living Hope as a church. It encompasses facilitating events, investing in the spiritual growth of students directly and equipping others to do the same

The Director of Student Ministry at Living Hope EPC will lead a middle and high school
ministry with the following core values:

● Able to communicate a trust in Jesus Christ for salvation
● Shows a pattern of spiritual development characterized by prayer, Bible study, regular attendance at Living Hope EPC, and actively investing in others
● Displays consistent biblical character as described in 1 Timothy 3
● Desires and demonstrates continued growth and maturation
Leadership:

Experience and Education:
● Experience in ministry leadership, ideally with middle and/or high school students
● Understanding and general alignment with a reformed perspective of Scripture and
supportive of the vision and work of Living Hope EPC
● Minimum of an Associate’s degree; preferably a Bachelor’s degree
● Strong Bible knowledge and an understanding of a biblical worldview
Job Tasks:
● Create vision, implement strategy, and set measurable goals for the student ministry
● Coach students to define vision, implement strategy, and set measurable goals for their
own spiritual walks.
● Identify, recruit, equip, and empower a team of volunteers to lead the Student Ministry
● Invest in 1:1 and small group mentoring relationships with students
● Identify, recruit, and equip parents to invest in mentoring relationships
● Plan and implement weekly student gatherings designed for discipleship, outreach, and/or
community building
● Create and implement a strong communication plan with students, parents, student ministry leaders, and the Living Hope community
● Plan and implement regular service projects within Living Hope and the community
● Plan and implement mission opportunities locally, nationally, or internationally
● Regularly participate in the Living Hope community at-large
● Other duties as necessary to serve the ministry of Living Hope EPC
● Plan and organize student retreats
● Manage student ministry budget
● Expand students’ faith community by building relationships with other youth ministries in the area
● Evangelize unchurched youth as they get involved in the youth ministry
