JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Family Ministries Director
Reports To: Senior Pastor

Job Requirements:
This person will: foster a spirit of fun and joy, effectively lead and influence, cultivate a staff culture of collaboration and excellence, and be highly motivated and adaptable. This person will be an excellent communicator who has a genuine, visible faith that is contagious. They will love children and youth and be genuinely excited to serve them. They will desire to follow Jesus and model how to do the same for others. They will have the ability to give spiritual counsel to children, youth, parents, staff, and volunteers when appropriate.

Youth

• Participate and lead Youth gatherings including Den (Sundays 10:30am-11:15am) and Pipeline (Wednesdays 7-9pm with a staff meeting from 6-7pm) as well as special monthly events: Core and monthly hangouts
• Establish loving relationships with adults, students, their families, and all-volunteer and paid youth ministry staff.
• Develop age appropriate programming for youth ministry (Jr. High and High school) that will engage and encourage students to seek and follow Jesus Christ, deepen their spiritual formation and inspire them to serve in their community and beyond.
• Plan, coordinate, and attend offsite spiritual enriching activities for students such as camps, retreats, and conferences.
• Work within the budget set forth by Session for Youth Ministry.
• Pursue your own personal Spiritual Formation. Be a good role model for the students and youth leaders.

Children

• Direct St. Andrew’s Children’s Ministries.
• Plan special events for the children
• Provide spiritual counseling to children and parents as needed
• Coordinate and care for the MOPS program.
• Direct Sunday morning Children’s Programs
• Recruit & train volunteers for Bible Adventures for Kids, Sunday school, and second-hour programs on Sunday
• Provide spiritual leadership for the Children’s Dept. volunteers
• Hire, train, and provide spiritual mentoring for Program Assistants (Interns)
• Communicate, support, train, and inform parents as needed
• Run 1-2 children’s service projects a year
• Keep Children’s Dept. hallways and rooms cheerful and updated. Decorate bulletin boards in the halls seasonally or as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and staff prayer
• Plan special events for the children
• Support the other ministries of St. Andrews as needed
• Vacation Bible Camp

Full or Part Time: Full Time
Hours: 40 hours per week

(This job does have the ability to go from interim to permanent)
