Job Description for Lindsborg Covenant Church, Lindsborg KS Youth Pastor
Purpose and Role
Lindsborg Covenant Church (LCC) seeks to fill the full-time position of Youth Pastor, responsible for overseeing all aspects of student ministries. The candidate will be responsible for both middle and high school programs (Grades 7-12). While the role of the youth pastor is multi-faceted, the mission is always the same: Introduce the youth of the Lindsborg community to Jesus and help them mature spiritually.
Qualifications
The Youth Pastor must have a love for God, a love for the youth of our church and community, and a passion to share Jesus with others.
In addition, the following requirements will be considered:
Minimum Qualifications
Have an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ
A strong teacher with a love for God's Word who effectively communicates Biblical teaching
Holding or willing to pursue Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) ministerial credentials https://cov-church.org
Commitment to a team approach to ministry including recruit, disciple, and sustain a volunteer leadership team
Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and execute retreats, camps, and mission trips
Relate to the unique needs of teenagers in today's culture and specifically in the Lindsborg area
Preferred Qualifications
Two or more years of ministry experience
Associates or bachelor's degree
Musical aptitude and abilities
Seminary Degree
Responsibilities
Leading:
Ensure the youth ministry is functioning in an effective, focused manner
Recruit, train, and mobilize adult youth leaders
Submit and effectively manage an annual budget
Oversee any fund-raising efforts for youth ministries
Ability to develop leaders among the youth
Building:
Develop comprehensive, well-balanced Biblical instruction and programming for Spiritual growth
Assume the role as primary teacher and provide teaching opportunities to other qualified volunteers
Plan, oversee, and execute special events and trips
Lead annual youth missions' trips
Teach Confirmation classes annually
Demonstrate organizational skills and written communication in implementation of ministry
Engage parents and youth teachers as vital partners
Develop a program designed to equip middle school and high school volunteers
Provide opportunities for the training and discipling of youth
Provide strong spiritual support and counsel for youth dealing with personal issues or crisis in their
Other Responsibilities:
Participate in staff meetings
Communication with relevant church leaders
Participation in weekly worship service
Oversee grades 9-12 Sunday School programs
General pastoral responsibilities under the direction of the lead pastor
Will participate in the Christian Education Board meetings
Will participate in the monthly full Church Board meetings
Ability to utilize relevant social media platforms in support of the youth ministry that will engage and motivate
Will continue to develop theological and Biblical skills through ongoing training and study

Compensation
Commensurate with education, experience, credentials, and qualifications, includes salary and housing allowance, health insurance, participation in the Covenant Pension program, if or after credentialed as a Covenant Pastor, professional expense account, continuing education support in the Covenant Equip program https://www.midwest covenant.org/equip towards a seminary degree, vacation, and sabbatical leave, as earned.
About us
Lindsborg is semi-rural, an active city of 3,300 people surrounded by smaller towns, a farming community and close to larger cities. The city of Salina with a population 46,550 is 17 miles north and Wichita, the largest city in Kansas is 70 miles south. We have a vibrant youth ministry with 20 to 30 middle school students and 15 to 20 high school students, with lots of room to grow. LCC is the only church in our community that historically staffs a full-time youth pastor. Our youth facilities are well equipped for the gathering of big groups, and include support for a youth worship team. Currently, a team including a temporary part-time staffer & seminary student and adult volunteers cares for our youth, as we seek to fill this position.
