Doxology Bible Church – Fort Worth, Texas Youth Pastor Job Description Position: Youth Pastor Reports To: Family Pastor Position Focus: To direct Doxology Youth in its mission to develop Christ-centered students who make a difference. The Vision: To help students show and tell who God is wherever they go! This occurs when we connect students connect with Christ, see them transformed in community, and equip them with tools to engage their world. Key Relationships:

  • Youth Ministry Staff & Volunteers

  • Family Ministry Team (Children’s, Youth & College Staff)

  • Church Leadership Team

The Position: The Youth Pastor is responsible for the continued development and leadership of a dynamic youth ministry. This ministry will partner with parents of Middle and High School students to develop and launch the next generation of spiritual heroes. Areas of Responsibility (Will Include, But Not Limited To):

  1. Leading the way personally.

We believe effective leaders are taking people someplace they are willing to go. We expect that everyone on the staff team at Doxology models a personal commitment to Christ-centeredness on a daily basis. Secondarily, we expect our staff team to champion and support the mission and vision of Doxology personally.

  1. Overseeing Doxology Youth:

  • In cooperation with fellow Doxology Youth staff members, ensure the execution of all aspects of the Youth Ministry.

  • The Bridge (weekly large group/small group gathering).

  • Special events.

  • Missions involvement.

  • Digital presence.

  • Model a value of “launching the next generation” not only through ministry to youth, but also through the incorporation of and development of young leaders.

  • Model doing “church as a family” through a commitment to being a youth ministry that reflects the values of being multi-generational & multi-cultural.

  1. Development of others and collaboration with teams.

  • Develop, recruit, train and spiritually lead a team of people to execute the Youth Ministry of Doxology, both staff and volunteers.

  • Collaborate with the Family Ministry Team to help parents assume and succeed in their role as the primary disciple-makers of their kids.

  • Develop Youth Ministry residents for the purpose of launching them into ministry at Doxology or at other churches.

  1. Emphasis and goals for this role in 2022/2023:

  • Leadership Development: Ensure existing youth ministry leaders are receiving adequate care, training, and leadership development.

  • Evangelistic Focus: Ensure students have regular and repeated opportunities to respond to the Gospel and that they are equipped to share the Gospel themselves.

  • Campus Development: Assist with the developing Youth Ministry of our Alliance congregation launching in September of 2022.

  • Maintains Confidentiality – You maintain appropriate boundaries with information.

Education and Experience:

  • College degree preferred. At least some theological training is ideal.

  • Significant experience (5 years +) in Youth Ministry, ideally including the leadership of other staff or high-level volunteers.

Other Considerations:

  • Affirmation of Doxology Bible Church’s Statement of Faith is required, along with a commitment to conduct this role in alignment with the Statement of Faith, Vision and Teaching of Doxology Bible Church.

  • This position will undergo periodic evaluation to celebrate success and identify growth opportunities within the individual’s ministry.

  • The individual in this role will be expected to participate in ongoing ministry training to further their development.
