Youth Ministry Associate – Part Time (Approx  hrs/wk 22)

Job Description

 

Reports To: Lead Pastor

 

Summary: The purpose of this part-time position is to work alongside the Lead Pastor and Chapel in the Pines Youth Ministry Team to give oversight to the spiritual formation of youth in our congregation (6th grade through 12th grade); to nurture the spiritual and emotional well-being of youth and their families; and to mobilize our families, volunteers, and congregation to love, support, and disciple our youth in intergenerational ways so that they may reach their fullest potential in God’s kingdom.

 

Duties: The Youth Ministry Associate will work closely with the Lead Pastor and Youth Ministry Team to accomplish the following tasks…

-Develop and lead a sustainable Christian formation ministry with a focus on youth grades 6 through 12.

-Integrate a variety of ministry opportunities (youth group, retreats, backpacking/camping, community outreach, and mission trips) into a holistic youth ministry.

-Build, equip, and work in partnership with a team of lay leaders to serve in Youth Ministry.

-Build relationships with youth and their families through moments of care (during crises, illness, etc.) and other opportunities to connect.

 

Team Expectations: The Youth Ministry Associate will

-Work closely with the Lead Pastor, Youth Ministry Team, and other staff to assure a unified approach to ministry.

-Reside in the area and establish effective relationships with ministry colleagues in the larger community, as well as in the denomination.

-Be available to attend occasional student and school events and pursue other informal personal contacts with youth.

-Have opportunities for growth in their calling and leadership in the larger church body, depending on gifts and desires of the individual and decided upon between him or her and the Lead Pastor.
