God Said What? Oh No, He Didn’t!: Putting Scripture Back Where It Came From

This 12-session study focuses on Bible verses that get referenced and quoted quite often, but out of context. Each individual lesson will highlight one verse and invite students to see the verse along with its surrounding verses and biblical/historical context. By doing this, students will gain a better and more biblical understanding of the text in question and be able to apply the biblical truths more appropriately to their lives.The goal of this study is to broaden students’ understanding by demonstrating how meaning is found in context and how truth gets distorted and diluted when we carve verses out and let them stand on their own.
